In the bioluminescent waters of Laguna de Manialtepec, Oaxaca, two figures, lights held in the palms of their hands, engage in a slow, improvised choreography. Against the darkness, points of light reveal and obscure the bodies as they appear and disappear, merging with one another and the surrounding water. The lagoon becomes an indeterminate space, at once aquatic and celestial, where luminous traces resemble constellations and swirling galaxies. Moving by touch and proximity rather than sight, the performers enter into a reciprocal exchange with the lagoon, where bodies and environment continually shape one another. Through the interplay of darkness, light, and fluid movement, distinctions between self and other, water and sky momentarily dissolve.
